Make your home accessible with smart tech

Keep it simple

Smart tools anyone can use

We write everything on this site in a way that is designed so that anyone can use it. You don’t need to be a tech guru to use smart tools to improve your life.

Start small and slowly build your way up. We believe that once you start making accessibility improvements in your life, you won’t want to go back. From getting rid of daily annoyances that plague people with ADHD to improving the safety and comfort of your aging parents’ home, there are tons of different ways you can get started.

Do you have examples?

We sure do. We have our own accessibility needs, so we’ve tested everything we’ll talk about on this site ourselves. Here are three of our favourites:

Laundry reminders

Emily hears the washing machine go off but still forgets to put her clothes in the dryer. Now she uses NFC tags to make sure she gets up and flips the laundry, saving time and detergent.

Weather report

Build a simple commute report your phone can read aloud to you before you leave the house. Ours tells you the temperate, the high, the low, if it's going to rain, and how long it will take to get to work.

Toothbrushing guide

Make sure you're brushing for two minutes and getting your whole mouth. A friendly, simple script walking you through when to change quadrants, so you don't need to buy an expensive electric smart brush.
